Ibishu Optima/Tenghui Liya v1.31 0.39.x

In 1990, Ibishu launched the Optima, a transitional mid-generation facelift model based on the first-generation Pessima, specifically developed for the broader Asian market, including East Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia and the Middle East.

The Optima achieved decent sales in overseas regions and was widely adopted as official police vehicles and taxis in Thailand, Malaysia, Macao China, and Taiwan China.

However, due to aggressive and disorderly market expansion, the Optima’s trim and configuration system became extremely chaotic. Most factory-produced units were right-hand drive. Left-hand drive variants were only officially provided for a small number of markets such as the Middle East and Taiwan China.

Compared with the mature, stable first-generation Pessima, the Optima lacked overall product competitiveness. Facing rising manufacturing costs and poor market feedback, Ibishu officially discontinued the entire Optima model line in 1994.
