Ostrograd Region v3.0 Beta 0.38.x

DESCRIPTION

A fictional Ukrainian region measuring 2x2 km.

The map features:

- Urban districts;

- A residential complex;

- Garage cooperatives, industrial zones, and abandoned areas;

- A hospital;

- A police station;

- A shopping area/plaza;

- A Shell gas station;

- City outskirts;

- Villages and rural roads;

- Courtyards, parking lots, and sidewalks;

- Tree lines, bodies of water, and industrial zones;

- Spots for screenshots, relaxed driving, and exploration;

- Multiple spawn points across different areas of the map.

Traffic:

- There is traffic on the map, though it isn't perfect. AI behavior may be clunky in places, as the map was originally created primarily for personal use.

The map was designed with atmosphere, casual driving, screenshots, and exploration in mind. You can drive through the city, head to the outskirts, pull into courtyards, find great camera angles, and simply soak in the surroundings.

Important:

The map is quite resource-intensive. You may experience stutters, FPS drops, and loading hitches, especially on lower-end PCs.

Installation:

Do not extract the downloaded archive. Place it in: C:\Users\YOUR_NAME\AppData\Local\BeamNG\BeamNG.drive\current\mods

In version 3.0:

Full AI traffic has been added across the entire region.

This was one of the most highly requested features. While the traffic system will continue to be refined, it already correctly utilizes the road network, makes the city feel more alive, and is excellent for casual driving.

Performance

• Archive size: 1.3 GB

• VRAM usage: ~5.3 GB

The map size has been reduced by nearly 40%, and VRAM usage by approximately 26%. As a result, the map runs much more smoothly; micro-stutters have virtually disappeared, load times have improved, and overall stability has been enhanced.

Other changes include:

• reworking of numerous key city buildings;

• updates to materials and a wide range of textures;

• significant improvements to overall map optimization;

• fixes for numerous collision issues;

• optimization of models and levels of detail (LOD);

• corrections to various visual flaws;

• reworking of specific city districts;

• improvements to roads and road infrastructure;

• updates to landscaping and various decorative elements;

• a major cleanup of unused project assets;

• fixes for numerous bugs discovered after the release of version 2.1.
