Russian voice of the navigator — Mikhail v1.0

DESCRIPTION

The rally co-driver in the game speaks only English. This mod adds a full-fledged Russian voice.

All commands that the game can issue are covered: steepness, length and shape of turns, distances, hints on trajectory and cuts, warnings, jumps and ridges, as well as system messages before and during the special stage.

Voice
The voice belongs to the author of the mod — that is why the navigator’s name is Mikhail: the author saw no point in coming up with a name for someone who already sounds like him. The reading proceeds at a working pace, and not with an announcement: short, smooth and slightly abrupt — as the navigator says when the special stage is already underway.

The lines were generated by cloning a sample of the author's voice, and then checked one at a time: each clip was transcribed back and compared to what it was supposed to say, so that no command contained an extra word. The accents are also not left to the model — they are arranged manually in all 180 lines.

What the user gets
Two navigators, one voice. «Mikhail (Russian) — Enthusiast» and «Mikhail (Russian) — Casual» both appear in the selection list, matching the two standard passnot styles.

180 clips, full coverage. The package is assembled based on a set of phrases that the game itself announces, and each required clip is checked for presence before recording the archive.

First the direction. Teams are formulated as Russian crews read them — direction before steepness.

Terminology verified. There is no official standard for spoken Russian passnots — the RAF regulates the roadbook, not what the navigator says — so the vocabulary was checked against established Russian rally usage.

Which style to choose
Enthusiast — 1–6 steepness scale with lengths, shapes and distances between turns. Detailed reading that most rally players expect.

Casual — easy/medium/difficult, no distance prompts. Fewer words, easier to follow if the user is new to passnots.

Technical notes
This is an audio package that runs on the game's own English linker, so the order of commands, timing and speed scaling remain exactly as the developers set them up — only the voice changes.

OGG Vorbis, uniform volume throughout the package, with the length of each clip recorded in the metadata to ensure the navigator's advance is correct.

The navigator's name and language follow the user's game language — «Mikhail (Russian)» in English, «Mikhail (Russian)» in Russian — through three new native localization keys. Nothing in the game is overwritten.

No game file is replaced, and no path conflicts with other mods.

Known restrictions
Pro style not covered. These packages are entire lines of passesnots, pre-recorded for each special stage, rather than assembled from a set of phrases, so the Russian Pro voice would mean a separate entry for each special stage (735 lines of the 15 special stages supplied with the game).

If the game update changes the navigator's phrase set, the package will require an update.

Requirements
BeamNG.drive 0.39 or later.
