In versions 4.1.92 and 4.1.93:
City bus chassis and configurations
- Removed the "floating" (unattached) battery model from standard (non-articulated) city bus configurations.
- Switched the standard city bus to the unified T-series (Monster) chassis, including engine and suspension variants.
- Retained the bus floor and body structure; added 26 chassis mounting beams.
- Lowered the body mounting position by 0.3 m compared to the original prototype.
- Fixed the radiator mesh offset without altering cooling efficiency.
- Removed duplicate radiator definitions specific to the city bus.
- The new body no longer loads the old "floating" battery model (mesh).
- Migrated the following four presets while preserving paint, liveries, and tuning:
- Monster Bus
- Monster Bus Hollow
- Monster Bus Double Decker
- Monster Bus Double Decker Hollow Top
- Retained "Hollow" body variants; fixed mesh node groups and removed references to non-existent window meshes.
- Removed 24 old bus JBeam files, two large bus models, and 28 obsolete wheel/vehicle definitions.
- Articulated presets remain on the previous split-chassis setup.
Bus cameras
- Adjusted the camera focus point relative to the bus floor.
- Set the view distance for the single-decker bus to 14 m.
- Set the view distance for the double-decker bus to 17 m, with a higher focus point. - Fixed an issue where the upper deck was replacing the vehicle's reference nodes.
Model and texture cleanup
- Optimized `monstaframe.dae`: size reduced from 230 MB to 87 MB by removing 180 unused mesh instances.
- Optimized `monstertrailersmall.dae`: size reduced from 29 MB to 17 MB by removing 13 unused mesh instances.
- Preserved necessary geometry and verified internal scene references.
- Removed eight unused "Feld" textures (totaling approx. 128 MB); no recooking was required as none of them were saved. - Removed 18 obsolete flag textures (totaling approx. 86.7 MB); current materials (lava/checkerboard) and shared surface maps were preserved.
- Removed three additional unused files:
- animated_lavav34k_o.dds
- animated_lavav34k_colour.png
- flash_e.gif
- This optimization step alone saved 293 MB; the resulting uncompressed mod size is approximately 463 MB.
- Original files that may be needed in the future have been preserved separately from the active mod version.
Braking
- Identified the cause of "creeping" (slow drifting) when using the service brake: the braking command and torque were being maintained because the pedal was not returning to its neutral position. - Modified `brakeSpring` parameters in 12 JBeam files (across 70 entries): the value was reduced from 200 to 10.
- Torque values for service and parking brakes remain unchanged.
- Tested a fully loaded bus stopping from 31.5 mph; post-stop displacement measurements showed a shift of approximately 1.6 mm over a period of at least 10 seconds.
Trailer Cameras
- Removed the global chassis camera setting that was overriding individual trailer-specific parameters.
- Restored separate "orbit" and "chase" camera settings for different trailer types.
- For flatbed trailers (48 and 53 ft), the camera distance is now set to 20 m, and the focal point has been shifted lower.
- Camera distance for the full-size tanker trailer increased to 16 m.
- Verified settings for nine trailer variants (presets).
Vehicle Cameras
- Updated camera settings for 45 vehicles (including monster truck and light vehicle versions), including a dedicated camera for the Bolide monster truck variant.
- Measurements taken for 48 configuration families; the largest variants were used where available.
- Increased viewing distance; focus centered on the chassis and the wheels as a whole.
- Adjusted camera settings for "orbit" and "chase" modes.
- Interior camera settings, field of view (FOV), and physics remain unchanged. - Exception: The Monstrous Medics vehicle still uses the overridden camera setting inherited from the ambulance body.
