How Does The Hybrid Work?

In “D” mode, the electric motor engages only after 95% throttle; in “S” mode, the electric motor always works in tandem with the internal combustion engine. There is also an “EV” mode, where the car runs solely on the electric motor. If you shift the transmission to “S” mode while in “EV” mode, the internal combustion engine will start.
