<p>That may be true, however you need a visual block to prevent the player "seeing" beyond the borders of the map into nothingness, which I guarantee looks even more unrealistic!</p>

<p>They are all purchasable lands. I just started a new game and made sure they work properly, no issues here. Have to wonder if your download got corrupted somehow. Try disabling your AV and redow...
