Adds a 16.4-liter V8 diesel engine to the Cherrier Percheron, along with configurations for motorsport, electric vehicle (EV), expedition, race transporter, garbage truck, and waste collection truck variants. All models are based on real-world data—including truck specifications, bodybuilder technical information, and motorsport and road traffic regulations—and utilize only original assets and official BeamNG resources.
NOTE:
The Percheron represents a European truck from the early 2000s. The V8 engine, automatic transmission (available since 1997), traction control system, motorsport configurations, and waste collection variants are all period-appropriate. The "E-Trait" (electric) system, the expedition-style LED light bar and solar panels, the electric steps and cassette awnings, and the conspicuity markings on the garbage truck (mandatory since 2011) are intentional modern additions, reflecting a "what-if" scenario.
V8 ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
- 16.4-liter V8 diesel engine, selectable in the engine slot for any Percheron
- Engine output levels: 530 / 590 / 660 / 770 hp, plus an adjustable racing ECU
- 12-speed automated manual transmission (AMT): features range/splitter functionality, an automatic clutch with smooth re-engagement, skip-shift logic, and gear changes that do not require air pressure
- Visible retarder Tachometer with a green torque band for the V8 engine; optional Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR) system
- Speed limiter (selectable for any Percheron model): 90 km/h, 100 km/h, or no limiter
- Heavy-duty torque converter for automatic transmissions
- V8 engine sound, based on BeamNG’s own recordings of diesel V8 engines
CONFIGURATIONS
V8-powered tractor units
- XL770 V8 6x4 (with automated manual transmission): flagship tractor unit, 770 hp / 3700 Nm, 12-speed automated manual transmission with a retarder; pneumatic and electrical connections for the semi-trailer are located on the deck behind the cab
- L660 V8 4x2 (with automated manual transmission): long-haul tractor unit, 660 hp / 3300 N·m, 12-speed automated manual transmission with a retarder; pneumatic and electrical connections for a semi-trailer are mounted on a side bracket.
Motorsport
- Race 44 V8 4x2 (with manual transmission): a racing truck for circuit tracks, featuring an output of approximately 1200 hp, a 160 km/h speed limiter, a lowered racing chassis, performance tires and brakes, a front splitter, side fairings, a flat platform in the area of the fifth-wheel coupling, a quick-ratio steering system, a racing cockpit (roll cage, bucket seat, multi-point harnesses), an emergency master battery disconnect switch, and "No. 44" livery.
- Rally-Raid 544 V8 4x4 (with manual transmission): an output of approximately 1000 hp, a 140 km/h speed limiter, an all-wheel-drive chassis with long-travel suspension and a central tire inflation system, a heavy-duty bumper with 6 work lights, an additional roof-mounted light bar, a snorkel (increasing the vehicle's fording depth), an equipment box (containing sand ladders and spare wheels), a quick-ratio steering system, an emergency master battery disconnect switch, and "Percheron Rally Team" livery.
- S1200 V8 4x2 Stub Racer (with manual transmission): a "fun" project—a short-wheelbase truck (with a 3.30-meter-long body) equipped with a ~1200 hp V8 racing engine, no speed limiter, and a 12-speed... Manual transmission, performance brakes and tires, steering system with a reduced gear ratio, racing-style cockpit; includes body mounting and a rear lifting platform; finished in light blue.
Electric Vehicles (EVs)
- LE660 E-Trait 4x2 tractor unit: battery-electric tractor with a dual-motor central drive system (490 kW peak / 330 kW continuous output), fixed gear ratio, regenerative braking, and a 472 kWh battery capacity distributed across four battery packs.
- SE450 E-Trait 4x2 rigid truck: battery-electric truck with 330 kW peak / 230 kW continuous output and a 400 kWh battery capacity.
- Both models feature a traction control system (ASR via torque management, with an in-cab switch), an electric air compressor for the pneumatic braking and suspension systems, and a dedicated dashboard display showing state-of-charge, power/regeneration status, energy consumption, and remaining range. Optional factory "E-Trait" paint scheme available.
Superstructures
- Expedition V8 4x4 (M): A 5-meter-long living module mounted on a cushioned three-point subframe. The interior includes a kitchen, a dining area, an enclosed bathroom, a rear sleeping area, and interior lighting. Features include a retractable awning, an electric pull-out step, a roof rack with solar panels, a winch, and an LED light bar. Equipped with wide-profile "super-single" tires with a tire pressure monitoring/control system; the rear fenders are detachable. Design: "Vasterra".
- Expedition V8 6x6 (M): a similar living module mounted on a chassis featuring a dual-axle rear bogie (tandem), wide-profile tires, and a central tire inflation system.
